Opening reception of Daniel Edwards “Paris Hilton Autopsy” is today. The event is FREE and is located at Capla Kesting Fine Art, 121 Roebling St at North 5th St, Williamsburg, Brooklyn from 6-9pm.
Paris Hilton’s naked “corpse” could provide an invaluable service to students preparing for prom this season. An interactive Public Service Announcement featuring the graphic display of a tiara-wearing, autopsied Paris Hilton with removable innards is designed to warn teenagers of the hazards of underage drinking. The display also features Tinkerbell, Hilton’s forlorn pet Chihuahua with matching tiara, and debuts in the trendy Williamsburg, Brooklyn neighborhood where prom-goers frequently dine, courtesy of Capla Kesting Fine Art.
Paris Hilton Autopsy will be at the Capla Kesting Fine Art gallery from May 12-30, 2007.
Getting there: The Capla Kesting Fine Art gallery is located at 121 Roebling St. at North 5th in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Take the L train to the Bedford Ave. stop (1st stop in Brooklyn) then walk 1 block east to Roebling St., turn right and walk 2 blocks to North 5th St.

Dr Pepper, MTV, and Epic recording artist Cartel are giving music fans more of what they want this summer … a first-time, real-time look into the making of the band’s newest album during Dr Pepper Band in a Bubble. In what is sure to be the most talked-about music event of the year, Cartel will be sealed inside a huge transparent bubble on Hudson River Park’s Pier 54 in New York City from May 24 through June 12, and every move they make will be live for the world to see as they eat, breathe, sleep and record the follow-up to their breakthrough debut album, CHROMA.
Pier 54 is located on the Hudson River at 13th St. Check out the satellite view from Google Maps here. I passed by the pier when they were still building the bubble and aside from official events it doesn’t look like you would be able to walk up to it and peek inside. The pier is quite long, the entrance is guarded and the bubble is at the end. It’s an odd structure that looks fairly small… I don’t know how they’re going to live in there for 20 days.
